Environmental Challenges and Conservation Efforts
Over the years, Lake Chad has faced a series of environmental adversities, notably shrinking water levels, climate change, and pollution. This rapid ecological change has severely disrupted the lake's ecosystem and the life it supports. Lake Chad has lost between 80% and 90% of its surface in the last four decades. However, amidst these challenges, many organizations, including ours, have risen to the call of safeguarding Lake Chad. Through sustainable water management, wetland restoration, and heightened public awareness, we strive to counteract the adverse effects and restore the health of our precious lake.
